Creamaid- Paid Blogging
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You can also subscribe to Time To Budget by Email. Thanks for visiting!
Creamaid is an interesting site. I found this paid blogging site through one of my searches and I have to say I have mixed feeling about it. It could be I have mixed feelings because I haven’t made any money from it yet. I tried to write for one offer but failed to see the Page Rank requirements and so I didn’t get the $10 for that offer.
The way Creamaid (would be interested to know how they came up with that name) works is you search the available “conversations”. If you are the first to write for the conversation then you will be prompted to click on a link. If you are not the first to write for the conversation then you will are supposed to click on one of the links to the blogs that have already posted. You will actually be directed to the blog post that was submitted by the blogger to Creamaid. You will then be directed to click on the widget to participate in the conversation. The widget will either give your more direction on how to participate or it will say “No more participation allowed at this time”.
If you are able to participate, after writing the post you will have to put the code to the widget on your blog post.
The great thing about Creamaid is that you don’t have to sign up. You just participate by writing and including the widget on your site. You can also get a referral credit if you are the blog chosen by another who is interested in participating in the conversation. Yet another great thing is they usually don’t give you a minimum word amount which means you can write as little or as much as you like. You can also sign up to receive emails when an new conversation has started.
I like the idea of Creamaid but the conversations are few and most don’t pay very much. You post still must be accepted.
So I have added Creamaid to my list of paid blogging sites to visit on a regular basis but I don’t expect to make very much blogging for them.
The New iPhone from Apple
The only problem with all these great new gadgets like the Apple iPhone is that I don’t have the money to buy them. The road toward financial freedom isn’t always easy. We have to decide what are wants and what are needs. For some an Apple iPhone might actually be a great investment for others it’s just a luxury item. Either way this new phone is really cool. I hope that I can budget for a phone like this one of these days.
There are many cool features to this phone but here are some of my favorites.
- You can play
music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies. - Full HTML web experience with GPS and location based services
- Futuristic touchscreen auto-rotates from portrait to landscape based on how its held
50 Year Mortgages? Can It Get Any Worse Than This?
It’s January And The Bills Are Coming! Cash In On The Equity In Your Home.
SAVE MONEY ON OUR NEW 50 YEAR LOAN
I couldn’t believe it the other day when I opened up my local Penny Saver flyer and read this ad. Now loan companies are trying to keep us in debt till the very end of life. Do they even realized that borrowing on a 50 year loan for most people means that they will be dead before the fifty years is over? My husband and I would be in our eighties by the time we paid off a 50 year loan. Not to mentioned that fact they we would be paying a huge amount of interest by the time the loan was paid off.
It seems that mortgage and credit card companies are not actually concerned about whether we pay the debt off anymore. It’s as if these companies are encouraging us to borrow, borrow and borrow for the rest of our lives with little concern about whether we can pay it off.
Many people would see an ad like the one I mentioned and be excited at the possibility of only paying $252.86 a month for a $100,000 loan. Heck, that payment sounds great even to me. But what does having a 50 year loan really mean? It means that you have decided that DEBT is your LIFE. It means you have decided NOT to take control of your money and live under financial bondage. Why am I being so harsh? Because I want people to understand that debt should not be our life and it’s time for change if it is for you.
For the most part Americans (as well as many other countries) seem to have resigned to the fact that debt is a way of life. We start borrowing money from the time we are out on our own till the time we die. People say things like, “I’d like to get out of debt, but we all know that’s never going to happenâ€. Over time credit and mortgage companies have been feeding us this line only it’s in the form of an ad. It’s January and the Bills are Coming! Save Money on Our New 50 Year Loan. Yet we treat these companies like our SAVIORS? Being worthy of borrowing money should not be a symbol of success. Instead we should be running from debt, paying it off as soon as possible and deciding borrowing money is NOT a way of life.
So the next time you are considering borrowing money understand you could be making the choice between financial freedom and financial bondage. Get control and STOP BORROWING MONEY!
Volunteer Nepal
I have always been a firm believer in volunteer work. It is important that we don’t get to wrapped up in our own financial mess that we forget the world around us. Volunteering is an excellent way to see life for what it is and not just what we believe it to be in the midst of our pain and frustrations.
Cosmic Volunteer is a non-profit charity that places international volunteers in humanitarian projects in non-western countries. The Volunteer Nepal project includes teaching English, orphanages, and medical work. As a volunteers you can stay from 1 week to 6 months.

Whether you decided to do volunteer work in places such as Nepal or down at your local homeless shelter remember that the time you contribute will change peoples lives.
Time Management
One of my goals for this year was to become more organized. I think time management is just as, if not more, important as money management. If you don’t organize your time then you are wasting time you could be spending on more productive things. For example, I am constantly searching for my car keys. The pattern usually goes like this. I am frantically trying to get my self, the kids and everything ready before we leave the house. I finally get everything ready and then I discover the keys are missing. “Who moved my keys?â€, I yell. It is only later that I discover that I was the careless one and never put them in a good place to begin with.
So as part of my time management goal this year I have decided to hang my keys up on a screw I screwed into the wall by the door. I also have my purse (another mysteriously perpetually missing item of mine) hanging one this screw. I did think about doing this long ago but the perfectionist (deep down within) in my said “You can’t just put a screw in the walll. That wouldn’t be prettyâ€. I decided to ignore that voice and to be practical. I don’t have the time and maybe not even the money to find that perfect wall hook anyway. What I really need right now is to be able to find my purse and keys when I need to leave the house. I must have wasted hours last year looking for my keys and purse.
Since I am not naturally organized this as been a bit of a challenged for me. I have to constantly remind myself to put the keys and purse on the hook. I am reading a book called, Living Organized by Sandra Felton and one of my biggest challenges seems to be not loosing the book. Sandra even mentioned in the first chapter that it is important not to loose the book. I laughed when I read this because I knew I was going to have a problem keeping track of the book. I am learning a lot from this book and my hope is I can actually become a little more organized this year.
One thing I have changed about my daily schedule is to limit my time working online until after 5pm. When I am on the internet I often shut everything out and focus on my online work. This was affecting my family and household chores so I decided I need to consider home schooling the kids, housework and driving the kids to their classes as part of my “day jobâ€. Even though my mother chores do go past I decided that I wouldn’t do any online work before this time. So far it is working much better and I think the family is happier. I do get tempted to get online but I have to suppress those urges
