It’s Budgeting Time!

It’s that time of the month. Time to write my budget out for the month. Actually I was supposed to do this before the month started but I got really busy so I probably won’t get to it until this weekend.

For those of you thinking, “There is no way I could stay on a budget”, I want to share a bit about myself with you. I used to hate trying to budget because first, I didn’t really know how and second, it never worked no matter how hard I tried. I used to get a sick feeling in my gutt anytime I even thought about budgeting. Some of the reasons I felt this way was because I felt like a budget was restricting. I wouldn’t be able to do what I wanted when I wanted.

After learning how to budget through Dave Ramsey (just so you know I don’t get paid to say this) I find that I am much more relaxed after I have written out the budget for the month. It’s as though a weight is actually lifted. I know that may sound a bit strange since before I felt as though it would keep me down and restricted. But come to find out that when you budget correctly it’s actually relieving.

The reason I think is because when we decide to tell our money what to do it no longer has control over us. I am telling $100 of our hard earned money that it needs to go to clothes this month, or $30 for school supplies. I am also telling myself and my husband that we need to earn $$ to to make it this month or telling category “?” it’s needs to wait till next month.

So you see budgeting gives you control of your money and once you have practiced it a few months you will feel better about the way you are handling your money. If you haven’t started one yet “get control and change the way you handle your money”.
