Credit Card Counseling
Those of you who visit my blog regularly know that my favorite financial counselor is Dave Ramsey but I do realize that there are other sound financial advisor’s out there in the world. The world wide web is full of information on how to better you financial situation. Many sites offer debt management and credit counseling information that is sound advice.
For instance Care on Credit has a number of good articles on the subject of budgeting. One article that can be particularly helpful to people seeking good advice on budgeting is “How Much is Too Much When It Comes To Planning Your Budget” and “Map Out Your Financial Future“. These two articles have some great tips for budgeting.
Though I am not crazy about debt consolidation companies I do realize it is a choice that many people make. Some feel it is their last resort before filing bankruptcy (though it is my understanding using debt consolidation companies is a type of bankruptcy). I am of the belief that in most cases people can handle their own debt without the aid of a consolidation company. Though I have had people tell me that they would rather have a debt consolidation company deal with the nasty creditors.
What ever decision you make regarding debt consolidation I hope you seek the advice of a sound financial counselor. You know who I would recommend.

Nice post, I actually attended a financial peace class at our church which featured seminars with Dave Ramsey. Even just watching him on TV made me want to be frugal and motivated me and my wife to really put on the breaks to evaluate our lifestyle and make some much needed changes.
Good post on planning for the future Mona. It’s always about planning your attack in order to actually knock out your target.
Hey, I featured you on MartyBLOGs tonight about one of your earlier posts that is a favorite of mine. Take a look when you get a minute.
Joe,
If you haven’t already started Dave Ramsey’s program, I highly, highly recommend it. Not only did we learn how to use an affective budget but we also learned about investing, savings, college funding and retirement. The Finanical Peace University is 13 weeks long and churches all over the coutry are hosting them. It cost about $100 per couple for materials but it’s well worth the money. My husband and I loved what Dave Ramsey was teaching so much that we decided to host the Financial Peace University at our church (volunteer basis).
