My Alexa Score is Still Improving

Since I downloaded the Alexa toolbar I have been a bit obsessed with it. I have been watching my sites score as well as all other websites I visit. I am happy to say that my Alexa ranking is still improving. On March 23 when I first wrote about my Alexa score I had a score of 539,000 and now my score is 412,746. That’s a 126,274 improvement in less than a month. I know that’s not the best but I think is pretty good for a budgeting blog.
It’s not likely this blog will ever have much lower than 100,000 because of the topic of this blog. The thing about Alexa is your score improves best if people who visit your site are using the Alexa toolbar. Many tech sites have good Alexa scores because most of their visitors are savvy to how Alexa works and have the toolbar. I am not sure that people seeking money management website are as savvy as the tech site visitors.
Alexa is kind of a silly way to rate the success of your website especially if you have a non-tech site. It’s much better to have a good stat counter and view all the visitors coming to your site rather than just those that are Alexa-literate. My goal is to improve all my score and rankings so that I can have a well balanced view of the success of this blog. So I am excited about the improving Alexa score.

Mona, when does a blog start registering progress on Alexa? Mine is some ridiculously high number and hasn’t been worth tracking at this point.
Hey Martin,
I had to search more information about Alexa. I am really not exactly sure how it works but the main thing is that if you want to improve your score you need to install the toolbar and visit your site often. There are other things you can do but I think that would be the first step. Here is a link to an article I posted on this subject > How to increase your Alexa Score
