Organization Skills Can Help Your Budget

I have never been a very organized person. Most things in my house are in no particular order and I usually waist time looking for things. So why am I tell others about organizing skills? Well, I guess I am what you call and example of what not to do. I recognize my need for organization and am attempting to work on it everyday.

Last Christmas I was given a day planner that is small enough to fit in my purse. So I made it one of my goals this year to use the day planner as much as I could. Well, so far I have been doing much better with organization. It is easier to have your thoughts in order if you are organized. I believe budgeting your time is just as important as budgeting your money. If we don’t think ahead and plan we end up spending money or waisting money because of lack of organization.

As I get older I am realizing more and more the benefits of organization. I still have a long way to go but if I continue to work at it is likely to improve.  Organization can be especially difficult for a mom. We have a lot of things to organize. This is not to say that dads or men don’t have difficulty with this but for most mothers their time is being pulled in every direction. Taking kids to school or home-schooling, soccer practice, dance class, meal organization, house work organization, grocery shopping, clothes shopping, working outside the home or work-at-home organization and the list goes on.

I still have a hard time understanding how one of my close friends with 5 kids is able to all that she does with the kids and work at the same time. All five of her kids are in at least one activity, she home-schools and is a teacher. I can’t say her life is all that organized but she manages to do what she needs to for her family. Though I have noticed that see doesn’t take any time for herself. That’s another area that is important to include in time managed life. I only have 3 kids and I am having the hardest time with organization. So I am praying that a long with patience God will help me to become organized.
