If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You can also subscribe to Time To Budget by Email. Thanks for visiting!
As I mention on my other blog iwebis I plan to include a month income report on this blog. I chose to post about money on this site since it is all about money and finances. It’s also a great way to cross-blog promote.
Ok, I am almost embarrassed to do this report because it’s such a low amount of money. On the other hand I didn’t really expect to make any money with my new blog the first month. The first month’s goal was to start of with a great launch which is what happened so I guess I should be happy about that ( and I am).
Income Sources (I use and plan to use):
Google Adsense - $2.13
Text-Link-Ads - Blog no yet accepted.
Sponsored Reviews - No offers taken yet.
Kontera - Didn’t end up using this month and probably won’t end up using this income source.
Affiliate Links - No money earned.
So there you have it. iwebis made $2.13 it’s first month. At least it made some money, right

Should You Use a Payday Loan or Cash Advance Service?
There some things I will not be able to convince you even if I try. The use of payday loans or cash advances hopefully not part of your financial freedom strategy. According to PersonalCashAdvance.com a personal payday cash advance loan works like this:
1. Read and complete our online application form (remember, there’s never an application fee). It’s important that you answer each required question accurately to expedite the approval process.
2. Your loan representative will contact you within a few minutes to confirm your details and complete the processing of your application. In some cases, it may be necessary to fax in certain documents to support the information you submit online.
3. Once approved, your payday loan is directly deposited into your account overnight.
4. On your due date, the loan amount plus the loan fee will be automatically withdrawn from your account.
So according to this site a payday loan is fairly easy to get but is it wise to choose a payday loan service when you are out of cash? In my opinion it is not a wise choice if you are planning to make it a regular habit. If you don’t have a handle on your money then a service like a Payday loan will probably cause you to frequently use the service which is like taxing yourself due to lack of control.
This ’stupid tax’ ,as Dave Ramsey calls it, is something that happens to different people in different ways. I recently made a huge mistake that costs use a large amount of ’stupid tax’. It’s never fun to throw away money but if you choose to use a service like a cash advance be sure it’s few and far between. Borrowing money should be something you decide will not be part of your financial plan. It can be difficult to stop borrowing money but it should be something you are actively seeking.
This post is also a review of a payday loan site called PersonalCashAdvance.com . I chose to do this review because I feel that my readers can make up their own minds. I am not promoting payday loans or suggesting that they are completely useless either.
PersonalCashAdvance.com offers up to $500 in cash advances. There is no application fee and they offer a fast and easy approval process with no credit check. Website is easy to navigate and offer easy to understand information.
Time Management - Summer Time Organization
As I have said before I believe that time management is a very important part of financial management. If we don’t have control over how we spend our time we are probably going to loose control of managing our finances. This is a sad truth I had to learn recently and I have vowed to never let the mistakes I made to never happen again. What it really takes is having an intentional plan ahead mindset rather than a reactionary one.
So many times we loose track of time and end up forgetting some very important things that will keep us on track. This all has to do with having good time management. This summer my goal is to work on my time management. I plan to make a schedule I can stick to that allows me time for things that are good for my soul. Last year I got so caught up in trying to make money the whole summer ended up going by with me stuck to the computer. I will not let that happen again. My making money efforts were to help the family but it was really hurting the family because I was a bit obsessed with it.
By scheduling my time better I will be more effective in every area of my life. So this summer I will be working on Time Management.
Shopping Online and Saving Money - Website Review - DesignerGifts.com
Shopping online for me is a way for me to save money if I am actively trying to save money. The danger of shopping online is that we often are sitting in the comfort of our home or office and sometimes end up paying more or paying for outrageous shipping charges. If we are smart about the way we shopping online we can actually save money most of the time. Those of us that are dedicated to getting out of debt need to be actively saving money by being smart about shopping online and off.
Here are some suggestions I have for saving money shopping online. If you are shopping for a high priced item be sure you do an online search for price comparisons. Many sites will give you a list of online stores that offer the best prices. Though it is a good idea to do a price comparison all the time, it can be time consuming so for the lower priced items it’s not always practical. If you have a basic idea of cost the best thing to do is to find a site that at least offers free shipping. I love free shipping and usually don’t ever shop at an online store unless I am able to get free shipping.
Now that I have shared my thoughts on saving money shopping online I will now review DesignerGifts.com. Designer Gifts is a shopping website that offers designer gifts at low prices. Read more
Taking Action Steps To Change Behavior
I think it easy for us to say that we can’t change. This is true for people who are bad at handling money, eat too much, spend to much money or those trying to kick and addictive habit. I am not hear to say that some things aren’t harder for others but isn’t it true that we all have to take the same steps to change.
We can’t just sit and hope life will change for us. I do believe that the power of change will come from our creator but the decision to change must come from us. Change is difficult but when we finally come to the realization that change IS necessary then we must take action steps to allow it to happen.
The inspiration of this post comes from my recent financial mistake. I was very, very upset with myself for being so careless. Instead of wallow in self pity for ever, I decided to take action steps to not let it happen again. This post is one of those action steps. Blogging is a type of therapy for me. I often write about things that I am dealing with to help direct my thoughts in the right direction. I also decided to post lists of my responsibilities all over my house so I would be reminded regularly about what it is I should keep on top of. “Finances and Bills to be Paid” is at the top of the list.
