A Message for Husbands this Mothers Day Weekend
Tomorrow is Mothers Day and this is a time to show your wife some appreciation. Though I can not speak for all wives I do know what types of things make me feel appreciated so I thought I would share this with all the husbands out there. As a mother there are many responsibilities that I think sometimes aren’t acknowledged by the family. My intent is not to make it sound as though the jobs of either spouse is more important than the other but I do what husbands to understand that the job of ‘mother’ is fulfilling but can also be very difficult.
Mothers have multiple tasks pending in their heads almost 24/7. The word multi-tasking I am sure was created to describe a mother. Many of us have the job of baby-sitter, housekeeper, referee, bookkeeper, taxi driver, teacher and cook. Some of us have many more responsibilities that include working from home or outside the home. Todays mother has much expected of them.
Husbands, if you really want to get your wife something special this Mothers Day give her the gift of appreciation. Even the wives that never mention they need to feel appreciated still need to feel appreciated. Now, I don’t mean to just say “thanks hunny” and be done with it. Tell your wife what you appreciate about her with descriptive words. A letter, a poem, a heart-felt conversation are some examples.
Though gifts and flowers are usually loved as well, the gift of appreciation will be remembered years later. Remember to get the children involved in the giving of the ‘gift of appreciation’. Teach your children that their mothers are worthy of being honored and appreciated.
Make this mothers day and the ones to come the most memorable.
