Shopping Online and Saving Money – Website Review – DesignerGifts.com
Shopping online for me is a way for me to save money if I am actively trying to save money. The danger of shopping online is that we often are sitting in the comfort of our home or office and sometimes end up paying more or paying for outrageous shipping charges. If we are smart about the way we shopping online we can actually save money most of the time. Those of us that are dedicated to getting out of debt need to be actively saving money by being smart about shopping online and off.
Here are some suggestions I have for saving money shopping online. If you are shopping for a high priced item be sure you do an online search for price comparisons. Many sites will give you a list of online stores that offer the best prices. Though it is a good idea to do a price comparison all the time, it can be time consuming so for the lower priced items it’s not always practical. If you have a basic idea of cost the best thing to do is to find a site that at least offers free shipping. I love free shipping and usually don’t ever shop at an online store unless I am able to get free shipping.
Now that I have shared my thoughts on saving money shopping online I will now review DesignerGifts.com. Designer Gifts is a shopping website that offers designer gifts at low prices.
Website Design:
As I have expressed before I get very irritated with poor website design. I am even more irritated when a shopping website has poor design and layout. Well, I am happy to say that DesignerGifts.com has a very nice website design and layout. It has a clean, simple design and is easy to navigate. The site has customer service information displayed on all the main pages and each page includes the navigation bar so you don’t get lost. I prefer sites that are simple but professional. DesignerGifts.com offers a simple and professional design that makes the shopping experience enjoyable.
Product:
This site offers many designer gifts that are affordable. The prices are reasonable and that have a decent selection. You can browse by price, occasion, upcoming holidays, gift baskets, picture frames, personalized gifts or by recipient. They have a great selection of gift ideas for men and digital picture frames. I especially like the Cheap Gifts page where you can shop for gifts according to price.
Shipping:
DesignerGifts.com offers free shipping on some products or when you buy $75 or more. They also have very reasonable shipping cost for purchases under $75 ($4.95 is the highest). This is a US based company but they do ship to Canada and Overseas.
So that completes my review of DesignerGifts.com. Though I don’t have any personal experience shopping on this site I do think it is one worth checking out next time you are looking to buy a gift.

Many websites have recently been discounting thier shipping charges to make the sale. They are particularly more interested when a buyer mentions they just might decide to run down the street and pick up the same item at XYZ store for the same price or less.
