New Years Resolution- Get Control and Change the Way You Handle Your Money

I am sure that I get a lot of people who are hesitant in really making a change with their poor financial management visiting this blog so I decided to post this encouragement reminder.  It may not feel like encouragement but it is .

If you are struggling financially and have not taken the necessary steps to make a change, then what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for someone to make you change? Are you waiting to hit it big and be rich enough to afford the things you have or want? Do you think you don’t have the knowledge or the determination to make changes?

Well, my first response to all of these questions is “Grow Up!” We are adults that need to start treating our financial responsibility like adults. I often have to remind myself of this simple truth, ” I am an adult and I need to start acting like one”.

Are you waiting for someone to make you change? If other people could make us change then would it really be a true conversion? God gave us free-will and that means it is up to us as individuals to make changes. Part of growing up is learning that changes are necessary in growth.

Are you waiting to hit it big and be rich enough to afford the things you have or want? It is true that you could hit it big. It is true that all your financial stresses could come to an end but will that really change the way you handle your money? Will becoming rich really make you good at money management. I think if you look at celebrities and athletes who have earned a lot of money in a short time you can see that having money does not change how you handle money. If you have opted to sit in the sidelines and wait until you become a rich overnight and it never happens, then were are you left? You are left with no money and working as a Walmart greeter at age 70. Don’t wait to become rich, instead take the necessary steps to grow rich.

Do you think you don’t have the knowledge or determination to make changes? Well, it’s not surprise to anyone who has reads this blog that I am a big fan of Dave Ramsey. In my opinion it is not necessary to seek any other advice then that of Dave Ramsey and his team. As far as determination goes, you may not have what it takes. It’s a simple fact people fail because they give up. I can’t tell you to have determination. You have to just decide to be determined.

I am offering you encouragement but it’s also a reminder for myself. I am often writing these type of posts because I am loosing momentum and need a reminder.
