This time of year always seems to be a very busy time for me. I am not sure why but I always seem to have some kind of project just about to launch every spring. Right now the ProBlogHer.COM project is taking up a lot of my time. The problem with becoming busy is that my finances are often neglected.
I am trying really hard to find balance. Some days I feel as though I have a good handle on things and other days I feel very overwhelmed and disorganized. Today, I got a lot of things done around the house and working online but my budget and bills didn’t get much attention.
My hope for these new project like ProBlogHer.COM is that the income generated will relieve e some of our financial pressures. I am really excited about the fact that ProBlogHer.COM is already generating a buzz even though it’s still in pre-launch.
We will see if my online money making venture will pay off this year. So far my income has continued to increase every month. Like I said in a post I wrote earlier this year, I think this year for income earning.
ProBlogHer.COM is in Pre-Launch!!
The reason I a have been so busy lately and haven’t had much time to write is because I have been working on my latest website. ProBlogHer.COM is a website geared toward women bloggers who are interested in taking the necessary steps toward professional blogging. I am really excited about this project and expect it to be very successful. At this point I can’t tell you much more so you will have to visit the site and subscribe the email updates. I will offering articles about this site and information about when the site will officially launch. This project has been in the making for about 6 months so I have put a lot of thought into it. I really think readers will benefit from this site. This site is geared toward women but men a certainly welcome to be apart of this site. Visit ProBlogHer.COM for more info.
A Year For Income Earning - A Prediction For 2008
I recently wrote a fifteen part series of articles on my other blog, iwebis, titled 15 Things I Learned In 2007 That Improved My Blogging and Increased My Income. In this series I wrote about the things I learned in 2007 and concluded the series by stating that 2007 was year of learning for me. I learned so much about marketing, blogging, income opps, search engine opp and social media that I think 2008 will be the year of earning.
I did earn a decent income blogging in 2007 but I the majority of the year was spent learning about how to be a profitable blogger. Now that I have the knowledge, a laptop (for more efficient working), and a number of really good ideas, I think this year will be one of very decent income earning. I am by no means a “name it and claim it” kind of person but I do have good feelings about this year. My hope is that in 2009 I can look back on this post and see if my prediction came true.
Happy New Year! My Top 5 Financial Goals For 2008
I thought today would be a good day to share my financial goals for 2008. I encourage you to share your goals as well by leaving a comment on this post. I think there is power in setting goals and today is the best day to start setting them.
My Top 5 Financial Goals for 2008
- Increase income through blogging to at least $1,000 a month. I hope to increase my income by continuing to blog on my existing blogs as well as two other blogs I plan to start this year. I also hope that my income will increase through a few other online ventures.
- Save over $1,000 for emergency fund. We have found that $1,000 is not enough of a cushion. Our cars are getting old and need a lot of repairs
- Reduce debt by $5,000. This is going to be a difficult goal to accomplish for us but I think it’s a goal worth setting.
- Be more consistent with my budgeting. I am a firm believer in budgeting but truth be told, I sometimes miss a few months of budgeting in a year. Each time I do this I loose focus which usually causes ciaos.
- Give more. We regularly give to our church but I want to step up my giving to people in need. I want to have a budgeted section for extra giving.
So these are my goals. Do you have any goals? Please share ![]()
Happy Aniversary to Time To Budget!
Well, I can’t believe it’s true but I created Time To Budget a year ago today. Actually it had a different name when I first started and I can’t seem to remember what it was. It also had a different purpose. I was going to post about shopping and coupon deals but I decided to create a blog where I could talk about making money online and money matters.
I stopped writing about making money online when I launched my other blog, iwebis. My very first post titled Are you broke? was simple and to the point:
So am I. So I decided to blog about the best ways to save money. Find the best deals, coupons and saving tips.
It’s that just true poetry
. Boy has my writing changed since then. Here I am a year later. Still blogging and still making money. Currently I have 4 blogs with at least two still in development. It is very possible that I am addicted to this blogging thing.
I am very thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given me to use blogging as an outlet and an income source.
