Who Needs Vacations Anyway?

Who needs vacations? Is it really important to take yourself away from the day to day humdrum, the pressures of work and other responsibilities? EVERYONE needs some kind of vacation! And YES it is important to get a way for a while to refocus.

As you may know I have just come home from vacation and can now offer you insight to why I think it is important to vacation. I honestly believe God designed our bodies for rest. Without rest our bodies grow tired and wear down quickly. A vacation, whether it is a few days or a few weeks gives your mind and body to ability to renew.

Some of you may be thinking ” A vacation is not in the budget”. This type of thinking is what I felt as well but now more than ever I believe a vacation should be a requirement to all those that are seeking to gain financial freedom. You might think I am a little crazy by making a statement like this but I believe it to be true.

What is a vacation anyway? Is it a two week trip to the Hawaii, Europe or an Alaskan cruise? Does vacationing require a lot of money? In my opinion a vacation does not have to cost a lot of money. In fact if you haven’t budgeted for it is shouldn’t cost a lot of money.

Though I believe it is important to get away for at least a couple of days, a vacation is more a state of mind than a period of time. Being able to let go of the stresses of home life and work should be the goal of any vacation.

So if you haven’t taken time for yourself and family think of ways you can do it without getting off your financial freedom track.

Vacation Budget Planning – Task 2 – PANIC!!!!!!!!!

I have left everything to the last minute again and I think I am starting to panic. I don’t have a vacation budget planned yet but I have made a few lists of things to do, things to buy and things to bring. I am hoping I will get with it and get things together by the time we leave :(

I still have to do regular household chores, take care of the bills and care for the animals. Sometimes it does seem overwhelming.

Budget Vacation Planning

In a few weeks our family will be going on vacation so I am going to need to create a vacation budget. We don’t normally go on vacation and have never gone while on a budget. I think the last time we went on vacation we ended up putting a lot of the costs on credit cards. Since that is absolutely not an option this time I will have to plan ahead and create that vacation budget.

I am excited about vacation but not as excited about budgeting. Though I know it is best for our family to budget it can still be dreaded work. I guess it wouldn’t be so dreaded if my vacation budget was plentiful ;) . I plan to write more about vacation budgeting in upcoming posts.
